Every Friday, we publish our favorite job listings, letting you in on our favorite listings in and out of Berlin. We also get emails from friends and readers abroad looking to join our bustling tech hub who don’t have the first clue about who to phone (+49?!). This week, we decided to feature two of the most promising applicants from LA and NYC who have their eyes set on Berlin: Meet Nadine Moezinia and Rebecca Sunshine (yes that’s her real last name), who are looking to work at your Berlin startup.
LA-based business management masters in tech interviewing in Berlin until May 2nd
Rebecca’s father is a standup comedian. She sees the light. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, she’s self-motivated, inspired, driven, and the oldest of four children. After graduating with a degree in creative advertising in 2010, Rebecca went on to work at Sony Pictures Entertainment and then as Director of Publicity at Strand Releasing, an independent film distribution company in LA.
Seeking experience abroad, she took on a graduate program through NYU in Tel Aviv. There she mastered in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship. She also helped launch a magazine as the fashion and culture editor of a London-Tel Aviv-based publication. Rebecca has studied trends in technology for some time and is able to guide companies in a way that makes best use of these trends. She’s here until May 2nd, and can begin work within two weeks.
NYC-based Ivy-league graduate with an EU visa and a sense of humor
Since graduating last June from a top university in the US, the London-bred Nadine Moezinia spent the last year working at a top corporate law firm in New York City, trying to decide if she wanted to become a lawyer. She’s travelled to over 40 countries and has lived in five of them. She’s hitchhiked across West Africa and has been to Timbuktu. She’s conversational in Italian, Spanish, Hebrew and Farsi, and speaks French fluently. As a dual citizen of both America and England, she has an international heart and a strong desire to join one of Europe’s finest entrepreneurial hubs: either in London or Berlin (her top choice.)
Her previous experience includes a six month stint working for two Harvard Business School grads at their London-based private jet company. There she was put in charge of running the day-to-day business, from manning the sales and customer services desk to contributing to marketing strategy, human resources, research, and analytics. Months into the project, at age 20, the founders annointed her the “Global Director of Sales,” albeit jokingly, since their jet routes didn’t go beyond Europe. Where does she want to work? A startup in Berlin that values innovation and teamwork.
